Here's a summary of the changes made on VRoot recently:
General
- New look and logo
- New advanced search capabilities
- The Resources section (now Wiki Resources) is more easily accessible with the adding of a secondary menu
- Due to spam, only registered users are now permitted to submit content.
News Submission and Access
- The MediaWiki syntax (same as Wikipedia) is now used by default for news submission
- Users may also use the DokuWiki syntax or filtered html
- The news submission user interface now permits to choose one or many topic(s) to categorise the content of a post
- A category image is automatically integrated inside the post
- News can be accessed by categories. This means a user may only look a the news concerning a specific topic (research, art, dev, etc.)
- News posted by registered users still necessitate adminitrator approval before becoming visible on the front page.
Resources
- The Resources section now works as a Wiki where registered users may collaboratively edit and maintain, by using MediaWiki or DokuWiki syntax, a dynamic Virtual Reality knowledge database.
- Any creation or modification of Wiki Resources content is automatically visible and does not necessitate prior approval.
Jobs
- The Jobs section is now editable by any registered user without prior approval
- The MediaWiki or DokuWiki syntax may be used for content creation or modification.
To Do
- Add more content inside the Wiki Resources section
- Update the secondary sections (About, Contribute, etc.) of the website
- Enable the one click search option.
