Introduction
VRoot.org is by definition a collaborative project: it definitively needs contributors! You're studying/working in the field of Virtual Reality or are really interested by it? So you're a member of what we call the VR Community. Let's work together with the aim of providing all types of news/resources that could interest the members of our community! Read the following paragraphs to learn more about the possible contribution tasks. If you're looking for guidance on how to add and format text/image content, please consult the VRoot.org Editor's Guide.
News Submission
All stories which are related somehow to Virtual Reality can be posted on VRoot.org. Any registered user has the possibility to submit front page news that will be published after a quick admin approval. Here is a list of typical VRoot.org story subjects:

It's important to know that presented news don't necessarily have to be about "big" official projects. As a VR worker, you can use VRoot.org to promote your own work! We are always pleased to hear about specific research projects of Master/PhD students related somehow to Virtual Reality. As VR enthusiasts, members of the same community, we feel that being informed about any works done in our field is important. The more we know, the better we are. This could lead to a better collaboration, the establishment of common projects between the members of our community.
We also recommend the submission of news related to other knowledge fields that possess some strong or soft links with VR:

The news page can also be used as a place to ask general questions to members of our community. If we find that your question is relevant, there's a lot of chance that we will promote it on front page. It will then be possible for other members to answer via the use of comments submission.
You may finally want to consult the "News Submission" section of the VRoot.org Editor's Guide in order to help you while creating a new story.
Documenting and Maintaining the Wiki Resources
Any registered users may edit the content and add child pages to the Wiki Virtual Reality Resources section (there is no approval process). The main goal is to create a dynamic Virtual Reality knowledge database that can be used as a reference for VR enthusiasts. It aims to be a space where to find, document and maintain informations about VR research groups, organizations, projects, softwares, systems, concepts, people, companies, ... In short: anything that is related somehow to Virtual Reality. Notice: We permit and encourage the submission of content which promote your own work. Just keep in mind you need to provide objective content.
You may finally want to consult the "Wiki Resources Editing" section of the VRoot.org Editor's Guide in order to help you while editing the Wiki Resources.
Job Proposal Submission
As Virtual Reality workers, being informed about VR related jobs is a good thing. On VRoot.org, any registered user is allowed to modify the content of this section without any approval process.
You may finally want to consult the "Job Proposal Submission" section of the VRoot.org Editor's Guide in order to help you while submitting new proposals.
Poll Submission
You want to probe VR Community's opinion about a specific subject? Another way of doing it, instead of asking your question on the News page, is to propose a poll. Every registered users can do it. The benefit of doing it this way is that you get a quantitative view of their thinking, not only comments. Keep in mind this whole thing is wildly inaccurate: rounding errors, ballot stuffers, dynamic IPs, firewalls.
Proposing Web Site Enhancements and Future Directions
All members of our community can help us to enhance the content of this site. If you have enhancement or future direction suggestions, you may express yourself on VRoot.org Management Forum. It specifically exists for this purpose, so don't be shy and express yourself about how we could enhance your VRoot.org experience!
