News Submission
A complete step-by-step guide for news submission is given below:
- Go to the "Submit Story" page either by clicking on the "Submit News" link in the horizontal top menu or by clicking on the "Create content -> Story" links in your personal menu.
- Enter the title of the news.
- Choose one or more topics to categorise the content of your post. The category picture of the first alphabetically ordered topic will be automatically inserted in your post. Feel free to suggest a new category on the Management Forum if you think it should be available.
- Enter the content of your news in the "Body" text field by either using the Filtered HTML (limited set of Html tags), MediaWiki or DokuWiki syntax. You will also need to select the chosen format in the "Input format" form showed at the end of the page. Please notice it is possible that not all formatting options are supported at the moment for the MediaWiki and DokuWiki syntaxes. In order to alleviate this problem, you may now use Html inside your MediaWiki or DokuWiki post to format a section in a specific way.
- (Optional) Insert one or many images in your post by clicking on the "Add images" picture button (just below the body text field). Notice that an added image will normally be inserted at the last position you let your cursor in the body text field. Please consult the "Adding Images" section below for more information on this topic.
- In the "Input format" section, select the syntax you have previously used to format your content.
- Click on the "Preview" button in order to see how your content looks like. Click on the "Submit" button to submit your content. Your news post should be published soon on the front page after a quick admin approval.

Adding Image(s) In Your Content
Images can be added inside news posts, comments, job proposals and Wiki Resources pages. While it's possible to display external images (by using the same syntax as in your post), we recommend that you upload them since it gives you more control on their final appearance. An uploaded image is also independant of the content syntax: the same filter tag is used for Html, WikiMedia or DokuMedia content. All the images you're uploading are keeped in your personal library so that you can reuse them in the future. Here's how to insert images and configure their properties while editing some content:
- In the "Body" section, place the cursor where you want to insert an image.
- Click on the "Add images" picture button:

- An "Add image" window whould now pop-up. You may now (a) upload a new image by clicking on the "Upload" button or (b) choose an image you have already uploaded by clicking on it (if so, go directly to step 5).
- The upload image form: Just enter an appropriate title and click on the "Choose..." button to select the image to upload (from your own computer). You may now click on the "Preview" button to see how it looks like or/and click on "Submit" when ready. Notice: uploaded images must be under 800 Kb in size and 640x640 resolution.
- The image properties form: When filled, the "Title" and "Description" data are shown below the image. The "thumbnail" size option will display your image with a max resolution of 250x130. It's generally the best option for left aligned context pictures of news post. The "preview" option will use the original size of your image if it is under 640x640 or will generate a preview version under 640x640 if not. You may now choose between the "left", "right", "none" or "center" alignment options. Click on the "Insert" button when ready.
- Back to your "Body" field content, you should now see that a filter tag ([img_assist|...) has been inserted where you previously placed your cursor. You may copy/paste it somewhere else if you're not happy with the current position. The filter tag should have the following format: img_assist|nid=img_node_no|title=?|desc=?|link=?|align=?|width=?|height=?. You may directly edit the "?" fields in order to modify the image properties.
- Repeat the same steps to add more images.
