The main objectives of VRoot.org are:
- To provide an open place where to find and share news/comments related to Virtual Reality.
- To provide a collaborative space where to find, document and maintain Virtual Reality resources.
- To promote personal/academic/communitarian/research/artistic Virtual Reality projects of people working in the field.
As a collaborative project, everyone is allowed to contribute in some way.
For Whom?
Most content of VRoot.org is dedicated to people working, studying or researching in the field of Virtual Reality. These people are not only VR software developers or researchers, they may be computer graphics scientists, video game developers, man-machine interface designers, artists/animators, etc. In short: all individuals who have a deep interest in Virtual Reality.

Founder
VRoot.org was founded in January 2006 by Jacques-Andre Boulay (J-A Boulay). He is currently undergoing a Ph.D. in Computing Science at University of Alberta where he works on a Next Generation Virtual Videoconferencing Environment for Tele-Immersive Collaboration. He did previously a Master in Computer Engineering at Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal. He worked there on a Collaborative Virtual Reality Spine Surgery Simulator.
